With over 32 years of pioneering service in power augmentation, Mee Industries has empowered gas turbine operators worldwide to boost output and improve heat-rate at minimal cost. Since 1991, our inlet-fogging and wet-compression systems have been installed on more than 1,200 turbines, ranging from aeroderivative to heavy-frame units, across all leading OEM platforms.
MeeFog systems are high-pressure water atomizers that produce a fog of very small droplets which quickly evaporate to cool the air. MeeFog systems can be used for evaporative cooling of gas turbine inlet air, with fog nozzles installed upstream or downstream of the inlet air filters.
The same system can also be used for wet compression, where the fog is injected directly into the gas turbine compressor. The fog droplets evaporate inside the compressor to give an inter cooling effect, which reduces the work of compression so more power is available at the output shaft.
Evaporative cooling fog systems can boost gas turbine output by 20% or more in a desert climate and wet compression can add another 10% or more. The turbine’s heat rate is also significantly reduced.
